Hopefield Terrace/Argyle Street, Leith

Situated in the heart of Leith, close to Britannia and to the new Scottish Office, the development is in adjoining streets. It has a wide range of shops, a Post Office, bank and building society, pubs and restaurants all within a few hundred yards. The library and the dental surgery are 200 yards away and the medical centre 300 yards.

Completed in 1983, the development consists of 20 flats, ten of which have been designed for wheelchair users. All properties are double glazed and have gas heating. Four flats are fitted with door entry systems.

Scheme Management and Maintenance

The scheme is managed from the Association's Edinburgh Housing Services Office, where the Maintenance Department is also based.

Applying for a House

If you would like to apply for a house in Edinburgh, you must make your application through the EdIndex Housing Register. You can receive an EdIndex application form by contacting Margaret Blackwood Housing Association directly, or by contacting the EdIndex Central Administration Unit, 8 West Pilton Gardens, Edinburgh, EH4 4DP, or by telephoning them on 0131 529 5080.

Please note that our turnover of tenancies is low so, regrettably, waiting lists do apply.

Rent and Service Charges

Rents and service charges are normally reviewed on an annual basis. Service charges cover various services such as landscaping and the replacement of equipment. All tenants receive a detailed Service Charge Statement every year.
