Kirkton Road, Arbroath
| Completed in 2003, the development consists of ten properties in all. Of the six properties on the ground floor, there are three cottages and two flats designed specifically to meet the needs of wheelchair users and their families plus one flat designed for someone with impaired mobility. These six properties are all level-access throughout. Of the four first-storey flats, three have been designed for older people, the fourth being for people with general housing needs. All properties are double-glazed throughout, have gas central heating and are fitted with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The scheme has won the Secured by Design Award from Tayside Police, recognising the security features designed into all the properties and the development's grounds. All communal areas are maintained by the Association. | |
