Kirkton Road, Arbroath

Image of Kirkton Road, Arbroath

Located to the north of the town, Kirkton Road has two primary schools within half a mile and both Arbroath Academy and Arbroath High School within one mile. Also within a one mile radius, there are pubs, restaurants, post offices, petrol stations and a range of shops including a supermarket. Within one and a half miles, you will find a choice of banks, the Abbey Health Centre, the dental surgery and Arbroath library as well as two bowling clubs, Arbroath United Cricket Club and Arbroath Football Club. The nearest cinemas and theatres are in Dundee and the New Taymouth Golf Club is seven miles away at Carnoustie.

Completed in 2003, the development consists of ten properties in all. Of the six properties on the ground floor, there are three cottages and two flats designed specifically to meet the needs of wheelchair users and their families plus one flat designed for someone with impaired mobility. These six properties are all level-access throughout. Of the four first-storey flats, three have been designed for older people, the fourth being for people with general housing needs.

All properties are double-glazed throughout, have gas central heating and are fitted with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. The scheme has won the Secured by Design Award from Tayside Police, recognising the security features designed into all the properties and the development's grounds.

All communal areas are maintained by the Association.

Scheme Management and Maintenance

Kirkton Road is managed from the Association's Edinburgh Housing Services Office, where the Maintenance Department is also based.

Applying for a House

If you would like to apply for a house, please make your application direct to our Housing Services Department in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices. Additionally, please apply to the Housing Department of your local council, with whom we have a nomination agreement.

Our turnover of tenancies is low so, regrettably, waiting lists do apply.

Rent and Service Charges

Rents and service charges are normally reviewed on an annual basis. Service charges cover various services such as landscaping and the replacement of equipment. All tenants receive a detailed Service Charge Statement every year.
