Margaret Blackwood Race for Life team raise £2000
It was one of those soft, cool Edinburgh mornings in June with the mist low over Holyrood Park. The sunbathers might have been frustrated but there was a sigh of relief from anyone committed to a long distance run. Or jog. Or walk. Or self-propelled wheelchair dash. Margaret Blackwood Housing Association staff members Suzie Crow, Linda Henderson, Barbara Mackay, Laura Oakley, Rosie Marsh, Kerry Fee and Angela Taylor decided to enter as a team to crack the 5km Race for Life course in aid of Cancer Research UK. Accompanied by friends Lorna, Siobhan, Jacqueline and Maureen (Kerrys mum), everyone made the finish and had a thoroughly good time. Since then, the team members have been pursuing sponsorship pledges with the relentlessness of tax collectors though the pink wigs may have diluted the threat somewhat. The final amount raised was £2,000.
