Margaret Blackwood Housing Association has appointed Gwen Robinson as Services Development Manager for its care and support activities.

Gwen’s role will be two-fold.

Firstly, she will win new Care at Home and Support Services business throughout Scotland, and manage MBHA’s contract tendering.

Secondly, Gwen will work with Support Services Director, Jock Welsh, in delivering new models of support that maximise independence and choice.

Jock Welsh said, “Gwen joins us at a critical time and is a key person in driving our strategy for growth. Her appointment underlines our commitment to winning new business.”

Gwen told us: “We are remodelling our services and expanding our capacity to help others according to their individual life choices and dreams. By taking account of people’s changing needs over time, we have witnessed their growth in self esteem and confidence to take ever increasing control of their own lives. We’ve been privileged to share in the joy that comes from achieving such remarkable outcomes.”

A qualified nurse and nurse teacher, Gwen has over 30 years of experience as a practitioner and manager in healthcare and the development of community care and support services both in the UK and Canada.

Although her role will take Gwen the length and breadth of Scotland’s mainland, she will be based at the Association’s head office in Edinburgh.
