Margaret Blackwood Housing Association has achieved Investors in People accreditation for the fourth consecutive time and accomplished the IIP Bronze standard at this assessment. The Association attained almost twice the number of evidence points as needed to win basic IIP recognition.
IIP assessor Julienne Dickey told us, Margaret Blackwood is an organisation with a clear vision which is well understood by all. It is very much driven by its values.
MBHA Chief Executive Peter Mountford-Smith said, We want to provide the best accessible housing for our tenants, who come from diverse backgrounds, some of them being disabled, some not. We want them to make the best of their opportunities and exercise real life choices and, if they need some support to achieve this, we want to provide this to the highest standard.
HR Manager Tony Carruthers added, Whilst we are best known as a housing association, many people dont realise that more than three quarters of our staff are involved in providing care and support services. The high quality of these services reflects the enthusiasm and dedication of our staff but it is also underpinned by our investment in training and their commitment to personal development. We are delighted that IIP has recognised this with their Bronze Award.
In her feedback, assessor Julienne Dickey said, I have assessed a lot of organisations who run SVQ (Scottish Vocational Qualification) programmes and this is the most enthusiastic I have come across. Everyone is very positive.
Tony Carruthers summed everything up. We are looking forward to building on this achievement. With the next assessment planned for 2012, the year of the London Olympics, it would be great to win Gold.
