Housing Support Services
One2One Support in the Community Perhaps you need some help to continue living independently in your own home? Or possibly you know of someone who would benefit from some assistance? Margaret Blackwood Housing Association may just have the answer. We can support you: - to go shopping
- complete domestic chores like cleaning or the laundry
- prepare meals
- get to and from appointments, the cinema, the theatre, social occasions and sporting events, or any other community activity
- deal with doctors and dentists, benefits and other agencies
- cope with correspondence, form filling or other paperwork
- overcome loneliness and isolation by providing companionship.
Our carefully screened and professionally trained Housing Support Assistants can help you handle a host of daily activities which, on your own, you maybe find a bit too much for you. | | |
Are you a Margaret Blackwood Tenant Already? If you are one of Margaret Blackwood Housing Association's tenants living in sheltered housing in one of our staffed schemes, the Housing Support Service also provides the advice, support and emergency aid of on-scheme staff during normal daytime working hours and the Community Alarm service at all other times. If you are a tenant in one of our independent housing developments, the Housing Support Service can also provide you with 24-hour call centre cover through the Community Alarm service. These services are additional to any One2One support you might receive. The Support PlanWe will work with you to find the right level of support that best suits you and helps you retain your independence - not too much help, not too little. The whole philosophy behind Housing Support is that we work with you to get the tasks done, not that we do them for you. Together we will draw up an agreed Support Plan which details all the tasks that you want and need to carry out and that we can help you undertake. The Plan can be as flexible as you want it to be. We will then sit down with you once every six months to reassess it and make sure it is delivering what you want, when you want, and that it takes into account any change in your circumstances. You might find that you need a bit more support. You might find you need a bit less. Interested? .....Contact UsRegardless of whether you rent your house or own it, if you need some help so that you can stay in your own home, you can apply for Housing Support.
