Whatbespoken is a new social media site that brings together anyone with an interest in independent living. The site provides a forum for people to share ideas, tips, problems and recommendations. It will also showcase new products, designs and ideas. In addition to this the site will give the Blackwood Foundation a tool to link developers, designers, technology companies and academics with people, the end users of independent living products and technologies.
The workshops that the Blackwood Foundation completed in 2010 were inspired by the individual solutions and fixes that people create to support their independence. The ingenuity that people use is astounding and we wanted to create a forum that shared that expertise. The Blackwood Foundation also wants place people at the hart of the design and development process so that they can influence new designs and new products. Again this is so their expertise and insights can be used and learned from.
Working in partnership with fatBuzz, we have created this new social media site. Following a trial run with a small number of users we are opening it out to the world. We want to get ideas and insights from across the world to create better designs, products and technologies. All assistance in promoting the site is appreciated, please join us at bespoken.
