Assistive Technology

Image of resident with CareAssist technologyAt MBHA we believe the right technology can help people to build confidence and independence and support people to have control over many aspects of their lives. There are many different kinds of equipment and systems that meet a wide range of needs. Some of the ways technology can support people are:

  • assisting with communication for people who may have difficulty with spoken communication
  • call systems to alert a member of staff nearby
  • environmental controls that allow people who have restricted movement to control the every day things in life themselves, e.g. opening and closing doors or curtains, switching the heating off and on

Our person centred planning approach means that we will work together with you and your family to work out what fits your lifestyle, which technology will assist you the best and what you are most comfortable with. Through our own expertise in assistive technology, and partnerships with a range of providers, we can find innovative solutions that support you to lead life as you choose.
