MBHA StandardsOur Support Services are registered with the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care (also known as the Care Commission) who undertake regular announced and unannounced inspections of our service provision. All inspection reports can be viewed on their website. Comments from these reports include:
"The service is excellent at providing care and support in line with the wishes and preferences of each Service User"
"Service Users are supported to maintain and increase their levels of independence"
"Service users are supported to have as independent a life as possible in an environment which is clean and homely and adapted to suit their needs"
As a Registered Social Landlord (registration number HEP 158) we are also regularly inspected externally by the Scottish Housing Regulator.
MBHA is a founding member of the Quality Scotland Housing Network. We are an Investors in People accredited organisation and have held the Positive About Disabled People symbol since 1998. We have also been awarded the EFQM Committed to Excellence certificate. Please visit our Awards and Accreditations page for more information.
We encourage staff to undertake training which promotes an excellent understanding of good practice. All of our Care and Support employees are working to become qualified and registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). We have an ongoing training and SVQ programme in place and our employees consistently achieve great results. We work in partnership with various colleges across Scotland who oversee the training process and externally verify all qualifications received.
All employees are trained to give person-centred support specific to each individual service user's needs. We provide this training for our employees to ensure awareness of requirements and best practice, in line with MBHA's Care and Support Services philosophy. We continuously support employees to enable them to practice service provision with sensitivity, empathy and inclusion, and to ensure that all employees understand the needs of the service user.
