We have a salary structure based on Job Banding. Each band contains salary scales based on 7 points. At the present, employees are usually appointed at the bottom of the band with the opportunity to progress through a performance related annual appraisal process.
Additional benefits include life assurance cover based on 3 times the annual salary. We also offer either money purchase or stakeholder pension schemes. We offer 34 days holiday a year including bank and local holidays.
Blackwood has supported flexible working for staff across all areas of the business. Employees can work flexibly from office and home-based locations, providing the needs of the business are addressed. We have a Flexi Time Procedure for all office based employees. We offer Child Care Vouchers through the Imagine Co-operative child care scheme.
In our care and support schemes we have provided flexible shift working or changed shift patterns for employees returning from maternity leave or with other caring responsibilities. We offer the opportunity to work past the current accepted retirement age for those who feel that taking it easy is not on their agenda just yet.
All work and no play is not what Blackwood is about. We recognise that to be a supportive employer we need to recognise life and commitments outside the workplace. We support people who are volunteers with other organisations. We recognise that at times people may want to vary their working arrangements for a period of time. We also support our employees with access to an independent support and counselling service to help at the times when life may throw up different challenges away from the workplace.
