Cala Sona Phase 2 in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire is Blackwood's latest new build housing development. The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget.
The building features large sections of glazing, which will maximize solar gain to the flats, as well as taking advantage of the very impressive views across the Clyde Valley. The flats are built to a high thermal standard, have high efficiency gas boilers and have attained Secure by Design accreditation.

Blackwood's six-storey development occupies a former car park in Glasgow's City Centre. The flats were built to MBHA's brief and technical specification. They are very spacious and are designed to Housing for Varying Needs standards. All flats can be adapted for wheelchair users.
Amongst the many distinctive features in the development, there are two lifts in building and all flats are equipped with a sprinkler system. The living rooms to all flats have full height glazing and most have spacious south-facing balconies. The building has good thermal qualities and sustainability features and has achieved an EcoHomes ‘very good' rating. Zone-controlled under-floor heating brings efficiencies both in terms of energy and use of internal space. Secure by Design accreditation has also been achieved.
670 Argyle Street was nominated in the Small Affordable Development category of the 2010 Scottish Homes awards.
