Dorward Gardens, Montrose

Dorward Gardens is located off Dorward Road, overlooking the attractive Links Gardens which are open to the public. Completed in 1989, the scheme consists of 19 houses and flats, of which six have been designed for wheelchair users. All properties are double glazed and have electric heating. The flats are fitted with door entry systems. Tenants who feel that they may be vulnerable can have their homes linked to the local authority's Community Alarm system.

The Association maintains the communal garden areas. The road into the development has been adopted by the local authority.

Dorward Gardens has won nine awards, including the European Helios Award.

Scheme Management and Maintenance

Dorward Gardens is managed from the Association's Edinburgh Housing Services Office, where the Maintenance Department is also based.
