Edward Stanton, of Anderston, pushed for the city’s first proper wheelchair route after years of manoeuvring around broken and uneven pavements and dangerous large kerbs near his home.
The 72-year-old, who was born with a disability and has always used a wheelchair, said: “I wanted to make it easier for people in Glasgow who use a wheelchair to get around independently.

The impact of the new funding regime means that over £1/4m of adaptations will be withdrawn from the two organisations. This funding enables 500 more disabled people each year to remain living independently in their own homes.
