Planned Maintenance

Window Renewal
The Planned Maintenance department at Blackwood Homes manages the rolling programme of major repairs and improvements to our properties. This could be the installation of new kitchens, windows and doors, new central heating or re-roofing. We identify what works are needed in advance by using our stock condition survey and life cycle costs.

This process is very important as it ensures that our properties are in the best condition possible for the benefit of our tenants. It also allows us to meet the regulatory requirements of the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.

Our Planned Maintenance Strategy

Below are the main aims of our Planned Maintenance Strategy:

  • to make sure that we have a good knowledge of our stock by keeping accurate up-to-date records
  • to make clear long term plans to ensure that all of our stock is in good condition
  • to look ahead and plan in the cost of future planned maintenance works
  • to ensure that all of our stock meets the Scottish Housing Quality Standard by deadline of the end of March 2015
  • to use our Planned Maintenance Programme as an opportunity to address fuel poverty issues and carbon emission issues by installing energy efficient products wherever possible
