Society Lane, West Calder

Society Lane was completed in 1994 and consists of eleven flats, three of which have been designed for wheelchair users. All properties are double glazed and have electric heating. The flats are fitted with door entry systems. There is an arrangement with the local council whereby tenants who consider that they are at risk may have their homes linked into a community alarm system. The Association maintains the communal garden grounds. Shops and amenities

The development is located just off West Calder's Main Street. The library, bank, Post Office and dental surgery are all within 200 yards and the health centre is also close by. A range of shops, including Scotmid, are beside Society Lane and nearby Livingston is an excellent shopping centre. St Johns Hospital, Livingston, is about three and a half miles away.

Scheme Management and Maintenance

Society Lane is managed from the Association's Edinburgh Housing Services Office where the Maintenance Department is also based.
